filmmaker + podcaster

About

I grew up an overachieving weirdo with too many hobbies, and then my hobbies became my career.

ABOUT

As a versatile filmmaker and award-winning podcaster, I bring a wealth of experience and a deep passion for documentary narratives to every project I undertake. Storytelling work has taken me across continents and cultures, from the bustling streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the serene landscapes of the Mississippi Delta. I possess a comprehensive multimedia skill set that encompasses technical and logistical expertise as a cinematographer, sound mixer, and editor, as well as strong interpersonal skills as a director and producer.

With a background as a producer at Refinery29 working in New York City and Los Angeles, I've pioneered groundbreaking feminist and body-positive video content that continues to shape the media industry's aesthetic. I’ve worked as a producer, editor, and composer for a variety of podcasts including The City of the Rails, Under the Influence with Jo Piazza, and Really Good Shares. Drawing from my rural North Carolina roots and a robust academic foundation in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science from Harvard Medical School, I approach storytelling with a unique blend of insight and empathy.

Proficient in Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole, I'm committed to cross-cultural communication and am constantly honing my language skills to better connect with diverse audiences. Beyond filmmaking and podcasting, I'm a multifaceted creative who enjoys collaborating on music videos and producing music as Teevee Nicks.

I’m currently at work on an autoethnographic project about abortion stigma, demonstrating my dedication to amplifying important social issues through storytelling. Splitting my time between Mexico City and the United States, I bring a global perspective to my work while remaining deeply rooted in the communities that have shaped me.

I'm enthusiastic about the prospect of collaborating with you—whether it's on your next project or in the future. Let’s make something great!
